The Beginning

Sentinet Computing began its journey in November 2000, founded by Peter Fletcher, Steve Pullinger, and Chris Willard. Our mission was to provide small businesses with reliable, straightforward IT support built on a deep understanding of both technology and customer needs. From the very start, we were a company built on a solid foundation of complementary skills.

Steve and Chris brought their technical expertise to the table, with a deep understanding of network support, server and computer management, and database programming, spanning both Windows and Linux environments. Meanwhile, Peter contributed a wealth of experience in strategic business planning and accounting, giving us a strong backbone for managing our operations.

Our Vision

Our shared vision was straightforward: we believed that technical solutions should be driven by the people who understand the systems best. Having worked directly with customers, Steve and Chris knew the value of clear communication and effective problem-solving. We avoided a sales-first approach, choosing instead to market ourselves based on our proven solutions. Peter’s expertise ensured that our business operations ran smoothly, giving us the confidence to grow.

Building Strong Relationships

We quickly began to build a loyal customer base—largely through word-of-mouth recommendations. Even today, many of those early clients are still with us, and we’re proud of the long-lasting relationships we’ve established. Our first office was modest—a converted garage at Chris's home, complete with a few desks and a lot of enthusiasm. We worked with limited space and equipment, but our dedication to solving customer issues kept us going. As our client list grew, so did we. A few years later, we moved into managed office space at The Innovation Centre, which became our base of operations.

A Growing Team

In 2009, Chris made the decision to leave Sentinet to pursue a different career path, and Michael Pullinger joined the team. Freshly Cisco certified, Michael quickly became an integral part of our proactive support service and has been helping our customers prosper for over 15 years now.

Embracing Change

Throughout our journey, technology has evolved rapidly, and we've always enjoyed embracing these changes. We’re constantly looking at how new technologies can benefit our customers—whether that means offering insights into better solutions or providing opportunities to work more efficiently.

During the pandemic, our early adoption of remote support services allowed us to seamlessly help our clients transition to hybrid work environments, ensuring that their businesses remained fully supported, productive, and efficient in challenging times. For example, we worked closely with a construction company to set up secure remote access for over 100 of their employees within just a few days, enabling them to continue collaborating effectively without missing a beat. Their positive feedback on how smooth the transition was carried out, reaffirmed our commitment to proactive and flexible support.

Our Passion

At Sentinet, it’s never felt like "just work." We love what we do. We thoroughly enjoy solving technical puzzles, building new relationships, and finding new ways to bring real value to the people we work with. More than two decades later, we’re still driven by the same curiosity and passion that started it all, and we look forward to what the future holds for us and our customers.
